The homeowners wanted a living room that worked for their young family, while also honoring the Victorian bones of the house.
This living room had several challenges: its small size, no focal point, and two doorways making it difficult to create a conversation area.
-
Our solution: create a focal point by exposing the chimney stack and dressing it with a salvaged Victorian mantle, add a custom built-in next to it, place the sofa in the bay window, and introduce jewel-toned colors and luxurious fabrics that are elegant and family friendly.
The result is a Victorian vibe in a decidedly modern way.

Updated lighting with brash finishes reminiscent of Victorian design.
Vintaged gold finishes to bring in a timeless yet contemporary appeal.
Custom millwork and bespoke window treatments, adding depth and color.
Salvaged Victorian mantle was added and the brick exposed to create the illusion of a fireplace.
